Before cosmetics can be sold in Thailand, each product must be notified to the Thai Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This article sums up what to prepare so the process goes smoothly.

What is notification?

Notification means submitting your product details to the Thai FDA before producing or importing it for sale. Once notified, you receive a notification number that must appear on the product label.

Information to prepare

  • Trade name and product name
  • Product type and form, such as cream, serum or lotion
  • Full formula with ingredient amounts
  • Intended use and directions for use
  • Manufacturer and notifier details
Tip Settle your brand and product names before you start — they appear on both the notification documents and the label.

What must the label include?

Cosmetic labels must include key information such as the product name, ingredients, directions, net quantity, notification number, manufacturer details and any warnings. Check the label thoroughly before printing.

Let your manufacturer help

A full-service manufacturer will review the formula, prepare documents and submit the notification for you. Agree clearly who the notifier is and who handles renewal before the notification expires.

The Beauty Club Aesthetic team takes care of all Thai FDA notification documents, so your products are ready to sell in Thailand and abroad.
